Thanks for the letter. We need to talk more about all this some day. When you start working out your ideas on affordable housing I'd suggest the you work on linking house design concepts with neighborhood design. Probably not the newest or brightest idea you heard or have been thinking about, but something of an essential component from my experience, especially when you start to factor in a number of values that seem to be important for lots of people. How people think about their houses is sometimes a pretty funny and complex thing.
Anyway, I'm proud of you and like your spirit in this. Could even bike with you for awhile depending on how close your route comes to St. Louis and when.
Also, don't think that tree in your gutter is there by accident. You're meant to learn something from it. It's a mystery.
Christina - I am really excited!! about your trip and only wish I could go along. I have been commuting by bike to work for the past 4 years and have fallen in love with riding and want to someday cross the US just like you are doing. Unfortunately I don't have 72 days free to make the journey right now - but one of these days. Big H told me about your trip and I expressed how excited I was for you - now he thinks we are both crazy. Those Grateful Dead diehards - what do they know? Anyway I can't wait to hear of your progress - I will check your blog this summer and see how you are doing. Your summer of 2010 will be unforgetable - take lots of pictures. God's Blessings on all you do! John Hagan
